Bed Frame
About This Piece
A custom bed frame Ponchatoula families commission from Cliff Craft is engineered to carry real weight without flex or squeak — mortise-and-tenon joinery, reclaimed old-growth hardwood rails and posts, and a structural approach that treats the frame as furniture, not hardware.
Engineered Where Bed Frames Fail
Most bed frames fail at the rail-to-post connection. Cliff engineers that joint the same way he engineers every structural connection in the shop: mortised, tenoned, and fitted by hand from old-growth hardwood with the density to hold its form through decades of nightly load. No veneers. No hardware substitutes. Solid wood throughout.
Built to the Dimensions of Your Room
Every custom bed frame Ponchatoula clients order is built to the dimensions of the mattress and the scale of the room — post height, rail depth, and finish all determined before a single board is cut. Learn more about Louisiana woodworking traditions through the St. Tammany Woodworkers Guild.
