The Heirloom Craftsman's Approach
Cliff Craft Furniture is home to Ponchatoula, Louisiana’s heirloom furniture craftsman — Cliff Trahan. With an engineering background and over 30 years of woodworking experience, he designs every piece with structural integrity in mind. Before a single board is cut, he carefully considers joinery, wood movement, and long-term durability.
Unlike most custom furniture makers, Cliff works with a wide range of wood species — reclaimed old-growth black walnut, aged cedar, mahogany, and more.
Because of this approach, every finished piece is not only beautiful but built to endure daily life for generations. Each piece is designed with the expectation that it will one day be passed down — not replaced.

How Each Heirloom Piece is Built
Every Cliff Craft piece begins with a conversation. Cliff works directly with each client to understand how the furniture will be used, where it will live, and what the vision is. After that, the wood is selected — or if you bring your own, Cliff assesses and prepares it. He then carefully mills each board and engineers it for structural strength and lasting beauty. Finally, every joint, surface, and finish is crafted by hand in his Ponchatoula workshop. The result is a piece designed to remain in a home for generations.
Every piece that leaves the workshop reflects the standard of a true heirloom furniture craftsman — built in Ponchatoula, LA to last for generations.
